Jen Kirkman - comedian
THANK YOU “ANONYMOUS”
A Twitter friend - or I guess ‘fan’ - did a really nice thing for me and six strangers. He chooses to remain anonymous. He’s never met me in person. He came to see a show of mine but we didn’t meet. He knows I’m trying to fill the house at my comedy album taping (this Saturday night 12/11 at 10pm at the UCB Theatre in Los Angeles) and he noticed that some fans of mine were bumming out because they couldn’t afford to come. (The UCB Theatre - runs on ticket sales and therefore, I can’t control the cost or anything like that. I don’t profit. I love performing there to support the theatre - as it’s always there for me to perform in! So it’s not a problem or a complaint.)

Anyway this lovely person purchased 6 tickets for some people to come see the show. It was a wonderful show of generosity towards strangers and regarding something so friviolous! I almost feel guilty. ALMOST!

I’m really touched. It’s so cool how the internet can be used for awesome connections like that. Dealing with the other side of show business - the actual business people who say, “No. You can’t perform here or there on our network or in our clubs…” it’s so nice to be able to use the internet to create your own ground swell and I love when people get behind the people they want to support. I try to do the same - I promise.

Love each other you guys! We’re all humans!
